In England you were born and weaned
Upon that green and pleasant land
And scarce could you have dared or dreamed
The life you’d find on distant sands
On farms and mines, through bush and war
You found true love, your family grew
You roamed and homed from town to shore
Then settled for a mountain view
And in between, you travelled far
To jungles, islands, canyons, falls
You ventured wide, a wandering star
To castles, temples, manor halls
To England you returned once more
A circle drawn upon the sands
To rest, reflect and still explore
Life in that green and pleasant land.
