Princess

You don’t need to wear a crown
Or sip a crystal chalice
No diamond broach
Or gilded coach
To lead me to your palace

You don’t need to sweetly smile
Or grace a royal ball
No satin gown
Or trumpet sound
For me to heed your call

You don’t need to ride a steed
Or kiss a shining knight
No castle tower
Or magic power
To make me see the light

You don’t need a fairytale
Or Disney’s happy end
For me to see
You’ll always be
A princess and a friend
